Kingfisher lake was dug about 10 years ago, its water table fed with a chalk bottom and well matured. The lake is castable from the banks via 5 platforms other opened up areas on the bank (with more being worked on each week) and 100% fishable from Kayak or float tube. There are 2 small islands, average depth is 5ft with a couple deeper areas. Water clarity does change from gin clear to 2ft depending on weather/winds. There are toilets available nearby as well as a Cafe open on certain days.
The Lake holds: Pike, Perch, Carp (Mirror, Crucian, Koi & Common), Green Tench, Roach & Rudd and will remain a coarse lake (no trout!). This is a new water to us that has not been fished much over years and left to its own devices over the last 3 years. Fish in this lake have never seen a fly before and we will be finding out more as we go, we do know the Carp & Tench were added 3 years ago. The carp in the lake are happily eating naturally available foods, with that in mind; there will not be any “attractant baits” allowed: eg:- ground bait, boilies, pellets or biscuits. The water clarity is very good and we want to maintain that, we will not be stocking more carp as plenty of carp lakes already.
The lake won’t have a closed season as it’s a stillwater, but it will still follow the same rules on water temperature (20C) at depth for targeting Pike.
